WHAT WE CARRY FORWARD

The BMPC2026 Planning Committee brings together a dedicated group of scholars, clinicians, organizers, artists, faith-rooted practitioners, cultural workers, and community stewards committed to advancing Black Muslim wellness, healing, scholarship, and collective care. Guided by the theme Rasikh: What We Carry Forward, the committee is helping shape a historic transatlantic gathering in Dakar and on Gorée Island that honors the legacy of Black Muslim psychology while deepening the work of remembrance, reconnection, and reclamation. Together, this team supports the vision, program design, partnerships, logistics, communications, and community-centered care necessary to make BMPC2026 a meaningful and transformative experience for participants from the United States, Senegal, West Africa, and across the Black Atlantic.
